Post-Colonial Modern History

This section collects materials focused on indigenous life and history in post-Colonial times.  While we know that one size doesn’t fit all when trying to cover a multiethnic, multinational region , expedience and the need for easily-navigable organization compels me to pick a single cutoff date for dividing Colonial from post-Colonial material.  That acknowledged, this page is limited to sources devoted to events after Mexico’s declaration of independence on September 16th, 1810, in a nod to keeping Tenochtitlan as a lodestar.
